Ursula Huws is the founder and director of Analytica Social and
Economic Research and Analytica Publications.
She is also honorary visiting professor of International Labour
Studies at London Metropolitan
University at the Global
Policy
Institute at London
Metropolitan University. She is an Academician of the British
Academy
of Social Sciences and the editor of Work Organisation, Labour and
Globalisation.
Credited with coining the word 'teleworking' she has for
over
a quarter of a century been carrying out pioneering research on the
social
impacts of technological change, the telemediated relocation of
employment
and the changing international division of labour and has
designed
and directed a large number of international research projects the most
famous
of which is probably the EMERGENCE group of projects in Europe, Asia,
North
America and Australia. In addition to her research activities she has
also
worked in the media and as a university teacher as well as publishing
and
lecturing widely.
