We are currently doing a number of proposal evaluations and project reviews including for the European Commission (6th and 7th Framework Programme and COST Programme) and the US National Science Foundation. We are also providing expert consultancy to the European Commission's Directorate General for Employment and Social Affairs.

We are on the advisory panel of the ETICA project and that of the
project “Improving working conditions in call centres through benchmarking and networking (in Danish abbreviated as “AMICA”) carried out by DTU (Technical University of Denmark) in co-operation with NFA (National Research Centre for the Working Environment) and TeamArbejdsliv (Team Work Life) and financed by the Danish working environment research foundation.

Ursula Huws will be a visiting professor at the University of Western Ontario in October-November, 2009.

The main focus of our current efforts is on writing up and disseminating recent work on global value chain restructuring and developing future proposals in this area in collaboration with international partners..

The WORKS project (Work Organisation Restructuring in the Knowledge Society) is drawing to a close. This has been a major four-year project, funded under the European Commission's 6th Framework Programme with 17 partner institutes across Europe. The project as a whole is led by the Higher Institute of Labour Studies at the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium and our role is to lead on the theoretical part of the work  (through our association with the Working Lives Research Institute at London Metropolitan University) .
